One of our favorite parts of our trip was definitely our visit to Doug Aitken’s Mirage from the Desert X Art Exhibition. This time away was definitely food for my soul. Carol and I have known each other for what feels like forever, and just when I thought we knew all there is to know about each other, our time away helped me discover so many more reasons to love my friend and our friendship. So fast forward to turning 39, a road trip to Palm Springs with my bestest friend was nothing short of amazing. For me, that meant a life devoted to caring for my babies and family, along with pursuing my career as an interior designer which left absolutely no time for a typical twenty year old lifestyle. Keep in mind, I had my first daughter May when I was just 18 years old which means I’ve literally been a mom my entire adult life. To be honest, it wasn’t until about 4 years ago that Carol and I started taking annual girl trips. Let me just start by saying that if I had known girls’ weekends away were this amazing, I might have started taking them a lot sooner. In celebration of turning 39, my bestie and I hit the road to Palm Springs.
